YouTube Videos:

Each video lesson covers a topic in a way that aims to help students understand math concepts rather than memorizing steps (in a stimulus-response fashion).

FORMAT OF VIDEOS: Videos alternate between brief instructional periods, “Pause and Try This Question” sections, and end with a small number of “homework”/consolidation questions that students can try. Answers are provided for each for immediate feedback. This is the same format that many of my in-class students really appreciate.

Optional: Students can easily copy down the note and follow along with the video. No worksheets or handouts needed! All they need is a sheet of paper.

Students are encouraged in all videos, to try one question and check their answer by unpausing the video before moving on to the next question, ensuring immediate feedback and course correction if needed.

Great for Students:

for reviewing key, foundational concepts (the more these concepts, the better their long term retention)
Students can print these out (or import them onto a tablet/iPad) to follow along with the video so they can concentrate on the explanations vs copying (Students are still encouraged to grab a separate sheet of paper to attempt questions when prompted in the video).
